Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Chardonnay opens with a fragrant and inviting lemon custard bouquet with hints of mild oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, creamy and viscous. The flavor profile is a really tasty apple and pear blend with beautifully integrated vanilla oak. I also detected a dash of white pepper and a touch of lemon juice. The finish is dry and elegant. This classy Chardonnay is rich and terrific. I would pair this beauty with sherry laced lobster bisque. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The Upper Barn is often our most transporting Chardonnay in each vintage, and the 2010 is no exception. White peach, stargazer lily and chalk flood the nose, while the palate mirrors those flavors with a savory, underpinning note. The texture is filigreed, exhibiting that delicacy of fruit and a river rock quality - the transparency that only age and a superb site can bring to a wine.
