Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Cabernet from the Alexander Valley opens red currant and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and juicy. The flavor profile is a plum and blueberry blend with notes of oak and red currant. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins linger for quite some time. This wine would pair well with cherry amaretto chicken. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This Cabernet block is situated between 1,000 and 1,200 feet in a cooler spot below the fogline, hence the bandwidth of flavors leans to electric blue/red fruits—which is unique from the mountain. Floral, fresh cigar and orange peel notes lift out of the glass along with red currant and pomegranate. The texture is seamless and elegant, with fine-grained tannins.
