Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored red blend opens with an attractive mild blueberry and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very nicely balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a juicy and flavorful black cherry and boysenberry blend with hints of gentle oak. This wine definitely calls for a second glass. The finish is dry and fine moderate dusty oak tannins linger for quite some time after the wine is gone. This food friendly red blend would be perfect with a cowboy ribeye. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This 2006 Legacy is the sixteenth release of our Bordeaux-style varietal blend. With this vintage, we selected lots of wine from our estate vineyards in the hills and eastern mountains enclosing the southern end of the Alexander Valley. The resulting wine is supple and leads with notes of graphite and black currant. Look also for hints of smoky toastiness and concentrated black cherries.
