Wine Review: This opaque and onyx colored Cabernet from the Alexander Valley opens with a black currant bouquet with a hint of menthol and earthiness. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, smooth, and silky. The flavor profile is a very tasty black cherry and mild black currant blend with a hint of plum and black olive. The finish is dry and its fine tannins are elegant. The panel suggested pairing this very food friendly Cab with a filet mignon or grilled pork tenderloin in the near term. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Christopher's Cabernet Sauvignon comes from block 82, which at 2,400 feet, is the highest elevation block on the estate. Its meager, rocky soils coupled with maritime breezes, ample sunshine and the inversions layer's magic touch result in a complex spice profile (juniper, star anise) and savory plum/boysenberry fruit wrapped in dark chocolate flavors. A wine that is both gorgeously rich and firmly framed by tannins.
