Wine Review: This straw colored Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon blend from Livermore Valley opens with a pleasant mild grapefruit and lime bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and mouthwatering. The flavors are a very tasty mild grapefruit and mineral blend with notes of lime and a touch of nectarine. The finish is dry and refreshing. This impressive offering is a perfect summer wine. I would serve it with clams, lemon and garlic broth over angel hair pasta. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This wine looks to the Graves region of southern Bordeaux for inspiration. Lime zest, warm ginger, and the subtle perfume of white flowers dominate the nose while the silkiness of Semillon teams wonderfully with the vibrancy of the Sauvignon Blanc in the mouth to create a wine of great freshness, fruit, and length. The Semillon of 2016 was a little leaner than in 2015 so the final blend is a little racier than in 2015. This is a wine to drink while young to preserve the fruit that is the hallmark of this offering.
