Wine Review: If you want to try something new and different, give this very dark red colored Saparavi from the Finger Lakes a try. It opens with garden cucumber and plum like bouquet with a hint of mint. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a red plum and red cherry blend with hints of mild strawberry. I also detected some hints of minerality and cranberry. The finish is dry and its mild tannins drift away nicely. I would try this Saperavi with a grilled salmon burger. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Wow! That's the first word we hear when our customers taste this wine. Rich, ripe plum and pomegranate flavors show off up front, then clove and allspice notes follow, with a bit of leather on the finish. The bright acidity carries through for a long and elegant finish. Enjoy this wine with almost every imaginable lamb dish, as well as eggplant.
