Wine Review: This white gold colored Gewurztraminer from the Finger Lakes opens with an attractive light lychee bouquet with a hint of pear. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty mild mineral infused lychee and with notes of white pepper and ripe Bosc pear. The finish is dry and its flavors are nicely prolonged. This is one of the better Gewurz's that I covered this year. It is also food friendly and I would pair it with cashew chicken. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This elegant wine shows off up front floral aromas of classic rose and lavender, followed by hints of clover and allspice. Classic mouth filling flavors of lychee fruit are on display, with rich cardamom broadening the palate. Enjoy this wine with Alsatian onion tart, grilled or roasted eggplant in tomato and garlic, or, for a twist, with a rare steak.
