Wine Review: This dark garnet colored Merlot and Petite Sirah based blend from Stags’ Leap Winery opens with a black cherry and black currant bouquet with hints of leather, cola, and sage. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and savory. The flavor profile is crushed stone and black plum blend with notes of cedar and black currant. We also detected hints of black tea and cola. The finish is dry, and its managed fine and dusty medium tannins are nicely extended. The Tasting Panel would pair this Cab with a Roy's rib roast. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Truly exemplary of the winery's ability to combine power and grace, the 2020 Investor is layered, nuanced, and inviting, with alluring notes of juicy black cherry, black currant, crushed blueberry, and dark plum, alongside notes of allspice, caramel, and clove. The fruit character is supported by black pepper spice, anise seed, and floral potpourri, interwoven with hints of fresh thyme, wild lavender, and sage. Th e well-structured mouthfeel is plush and harmonious with velvety-rich tannins that coat the palate, finishing with a core of fresh acidity and brightness. Certain to enliven any celebratory occasion, the wine pairs perfectly with a variety of dishes.
