Wine Review: This medium purple colored Merlot from St. Francis opens with a black cherry and cassis bouquet with hints of lavender sachet and cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, very smooth, fresh, and clean. The flavor profile is black cherry and stone dust blend with notes of cedar and boysenberry. We also detected hints of cinnamon, mocha, and licorice. The finish is dry, and its fine tannins, acidity, and flavors drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Merlot with a filet mignon. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Layered flavors of boysenberry preserves, black tea, and licorice.
