Wine Review: This midnight purple colored red blend from St. Francis opens with a craisin and black raspberry bouquet with hints of eucalyptus and oak. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and savory. The flavor profile is blackberry and stewed black plum blend with notes of stony minerality, black tea and toasted oak. I also detected hints of black pepper, dark chocolate, and spice. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and moderate chewy tannins stick around for a while. I would decant this rustic red blend before pairing it with braised short ribs or burnt ends. Enjoy – Ken & Joe
Winemaker Notes: A luscious and vibrant blend of rich red varietals, this wine offers enticing aromas of dark berries with a touch of wild herbs and a hint of toast. Layered flavors of raspberry, dark cherry, roasted plum, black olive and savory spices merge for a balanced, quenching wine with a long, silky finish.
