Wine Review: This midnight purple colored “Reserve” level Cabernet Sauvignon from St. Francis opens with a match stick bouquet with hints of black cherry and plum in the background. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very smooth. The flavor profile is a black currant and oak blend with notes of blueberry and minerality. We also detected hints of plum and noted that the tannins of this young Cab crept up into the palate. The finish is dry and the aforementioned moderate tannins linger for a very long time. The Panel suggested decanting this Cab and then pairing it with duck breast. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: A classic rich and full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine delivers layered aromas of cassis, black tea leaf and baking spices highlighted with big, concentrated flavors of cassis, crushed dark berries, mocha beans and a hint of anise. The finish is vibrant with good structure and length.
