Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored Syrah was our favorite from a mini flight that we just conducted over Labor Day weekend. It opens with an attractive black cherry bouquet with a hint of leather and cedar. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, well balanced, and very smooth. The flavor profile is a very tasty mild black raspberry with nicely integrated oak. There is also a dash of black pepper. The finish is dry and its building tannins show nice length, but are not over the top. This is a very steak friendly Syrah and would be perfect with a ribeye. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This is serious syrah, black and spicy with loads of dense cocoa and black cherry fruit aromas. Toasty, sweet oak is wrapped tightly to the natural smokiness of syrah. A solid fruit-driven entry of juicy, red fruit - cherry, strawberry, raspberry and blackberry- is balanced by bright acidity and youthful tannins that coat the palate. This wine will reward cellaring. Drink 2011 – 2017 or decant for 2-3 hours before service. Jac Cole, January 2010.
