Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Sauvignon Blanc from Spottswoode is very good and was well liked by all that tried it. It opens with a gooseberry and grapefruit bouquet with hints of stone fruit and lime. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with nicely integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a chalky mineral and yellow grapefruit blend with notes of saline and lime. I also detected hints of nectarine pit. The finish is dry, and its flavors linger and then drift away nicely. I would pair this very good Sauvignon Blanc with grilled swordfish skewers. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: A beautiful Sauvignon Blanc marked aromatically by citrus notes: Lime, lemon, grapefruit, and a hint of mandarin. Full of white peach and cassis bud, framed with vanilla, ripe pear, green apple, and hints of dried herbs and toasted wheat berry. Rich and textural, with a wonderful minerality and energy that carries into a long, mouthwatering finish.
