Wine Review: This pitch black colored Cabernet from Napa opens with a black licorice bouquet with a hint of new leather. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a mild black currant and black plum blend with notes of integrated oak and hints of black olive and black licorice. The finish is quite dry and its dusty tannins stick around for quite a while. This wine would pair well with a New York strip steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2011 growing year was fairly cool and this delivered a wine with a complex spectrum of deep fruit flavors and a lovely elegance. The bouquet is warm and inviting with aromas of berry pie and an elusive floral perfume that flows through the palate. It finishes long with dark fruit flavors of black cherries, boysenberries, blackberries, and blueberries. Hints of mint and fresh herbs mingle with aromas of fresh roasted coffee in this delicious wine!
