Wine Review: This soft and poised Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa is a light golden yellow color, with a lovely bouquet of red delicious apple, fresh apricot, pink grapefruit, flint, and some light grassy notes. On the palate, it is supple, balanced, medium-minus bodied and textured, with crisp plus acidity. There are flavors of golden delicious apple, flinty minerality, tangerine, pink grapefruit and hints of saline and spice. It closes with a very long, citrusy finish. Serve with fresh mussels steamed in white wine and garlic with crusty French bread. – Mark
Winemaker Notes: This wine exhibits the typical Southern Right balance of tight "Old World" minerality and length with hints of "New World" texture and body. The 2021 is a wine that favors origin expressive individuality, minerality and palate complexity ahead of pure, pungent varietal aroma. A significant percentage of fruit from iron and clay-rich soil has added a textural and structural component and additional overall complexity to this wine. The Sandstone soils have contributed their typical bright, tensile character and a marked minerality.
