Wine Review: This cloudy midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Somnium is Excellent! It opens with a fragrant cassis and red plum bouquet with hints of cinnamon, red bell pepper, and black tea. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and rich. The flavor profile is stone dust and cassis blend with notes of black tea and spiced black plum. We also detected hints of olive, graphite, black pepper, and cocoa. The finish displays dusty drying tannins that build-up and stick around for a very long time. This will benefit from some aeration in the near term. The Tasting Panel would decant it for a while before serving this big boy Cab with well-marbled ribeye. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Soft, graphite-infused tannins and gentle herbal notes of dried thyme and garrigue provide graceful support for the curvaceous fruit core. Waves of indulgent chocolate, vanilla, red fruit, and berry bramble carry the wine through a long, raspberry-caramel finish.
