Wine Review: This opaque and deep purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Somnium opens with a mild black currant bouquet with hints of oak, dried herbs and cocoa. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and velvety. The flavor profile is gentle graphite, black currant and Devil’s Food cake blend. We also detected hints of black tea and faint oak. The finish is dry and its moderate grippy tannins build-up and last for a very very long time. This wine is young and evolves nicely in the glass. The Panel would decant this Cab in the near term and pair it with a well-marble ribeye smothered sautéed mushroom and onions. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Aromatic and fresh with intense blackberry, black currant and blueberry flavors. Cherry fills the mouth, with hints of rosemary, sage, and earthy notes on the end palate, followed by a smooth soft finish.
