Wine Review: This pale-yellow colored Chardonnay from the Durell Vineyard opens with a pineapple, green apple, and light oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, delicate, seamless and a bit mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a Bosc pear and almond blend with notes of chalky minerality, white tea and pink lady apple. I also detected some hints of oak and lime. The finish is dry, and its flavors fade away nicely. I would pair this elegant Chard with coquilles St. Jacques. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Durell Vineyard has been the source behind some of the most sought-after Chardonnay wines in California history. We feel fortunate to work with two outstanding vineyard blocks that combine to make something special year after year. This 2021 vintage wine is lively and exotic with rich flavors, complexity, and focus. We fermented in French oak barrels to produce an expansive wine that illustrates the balance and exceptional character of the vintage.
