Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark red colored Pinot Noir from Sojourn opens with pomegranate and red raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with plus acidity. It is also juicy and savory. The flavor profile is a mineral and oak influenced raspberry with notes of ripe red plum. I also detected a hint of cola towards the end. The finish is dry and its moderate sticky tannins and acidity linger nicely. This Pinot would pair well with a grilled salmon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This wine's signature earth and mushroom notes shine in the 2017 bottling, thanks to the combination of unique soils and dominance of the Pommard clone. Bright red fruit flavors, smooth texture, and rich, silky tannins complement the earthy tones. The 2017 is exceptionally complex and pleasurable in its youth and promises to reward cellaring as well.
