Wine Review: This medium garnet colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Smith Devereux opens with a mild black currant and moist pipe tobacco bouquet with hints of black cherry, green tea, leather, and tomato leaf. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced, smooth, and robust. The flavor profile is black cherry and graphite blend with notes of blackberry and green tea. We also detected hints of black tea, cracked pepper, cassis, and oak. The finish is dry, and its moderate chewy tannins stick around for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would decant this big boy Cab before pairing it with a well-marbled ribeye steak or with braised short ribs. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Tasting Notes: Rich, silky, bold, spicy, and complex. This is a softer, more balanced expression of the iconic Napa Valley Cabernet. Aromas of cherry, lavender, and cocoa with flavors of cherry pie, black currant, spice cabinet and soft tannins.
