Wine Review: This dark red colored unusual blend opens with a fragrant red cherry and boysenberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very well balanced, and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a very tasty black cherry and mild black raspberry with notes of blueberry detected as well. The finish is dry and its very mild tannins are quite gentle. This wine is an absolute quaffer. Pair it with Theresa's meatloaf and enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Abondante is Italian for “generous”, generosity being something we try to build into all our wines. The wine is a blend of grapes grown by Lonnie Wright in the lower Columbia Valley. There is a little Syrah and from McDermott’s Scorched Earth Vineyard, Merlot from the Hillside Vineyard, Cabernet from the Hillside Vineyard and Zinfandel from the Pines. How could the wine not be good? Lonnie has clearly demonstrated his command of grape growing. The fruit was ripe and clean: high sugar, great acidity. This baby is a probably the best value we put out.
