Wine Review: This pale straw-colored Chenin Blanc from South Africa opens with an inviting citrus bouquet featuring tangerines and pineapple with hints of guava. On the palate, it is medium bodied, soft and zesty. The lively acidity and balanced minerality are well-integrated. The flavor profile is lemon rind, lime and green apple with notes of honey. There are also some grapefruit notes that appear in front of a dry finish that fades away nicely. I would recommend this pleasant and crowd-pleasing Chenin Blanc be paired with steamed mussels with garlic cream sauce. – Joe
Winemaker Notes: This easy-drinking wine displays a bright effervescent color with a green tinge. Nuances of passion fruit blossoms, apple, pear, kiwi and fresh melon. The multi-layered freshness is complimented by a balanced acidity. The 2019 Chenin Blanc embraces its versatility, showcases multi-layers of fresh fruit and is a delicious super-quaffer. This wine should be served slightly chilled as an aperitif or with dishes like grilled whole chicken or lighter seafood dishes. This wine is vegan and gluten-free.
