Wine Review: This opaque ruby Syrah from South Africa's Stellenbosch region begins with complex aromas of wet wool, candy apple, rosemary, and cedar. On the palate, the medium-plus wine presents with slightly under ripe red fruit and peppercorn flavors behind a dark cherry core. Moderate tannins and pronounced oak add structure and result in a smoky, vanilla- and mocha-infused finish that drifts away nicely. Decant for at least 30 minutes before serving with a cowboy cut angus ribeye steak. – Jeoff
Winemaker Notes: The wine displays an inky black centre with alluring swatches of plum. This masculine perfume is embroidered with an array of spices. Decadent layers of mulberry wrapped in vanilla pods entice your senses, while tailored tannins capture the aromas of black fruit. Delicious with seared tuna layered with coarse pink peppercorn.
