Wine Review: This fresh and youthful Tuscan red is a translucent medium garnet color, with a nose of book leather, earthy mushroom, wild strawberry, red currants, and potpourri. There's a nice round, very smooth mouthfeel which covers the palate. I found it to be dry, medium bodied, moderately acidic, and rustic. There are flavors of red currant, oak, and strawberry, along with notes of loam, dried herbs, and spice. The finish is dry and spicy, and the integrated tannins linger for quite a while. A 20 minute decant softens the rough edges nicely. Serve with meatballs and sausages in marinara. - Mark
