Wine Review: This bright red colored Pinot has lots of life and I expect it to last for quite a while. It opens with a very musty strawberry bouquet with notes of truffles, nutmeg, and earth. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and fruit forward. The flavor profile is strawberry with notes of red raspberry and mild dusty oak. The finish is quite dry and its big tannins are sticky and noticeably present. I would pair it with a prime rib for now. I suspect it will evolve into a real gem with 3-5 years of aging in your cellar. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: We believe that the 2008 Siduri Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noir is a superb introduction to this highly acclaimed vintage. Not only is it a blend of some fantastic wines but we have endeavored to price it very fairly. It shows red cherry and clove flavors, with a smooth, velvet-like texture. On the mid-palate the wine closes down slightly, due undoubtedly to its youth, but the finish opens up again and is lingering, long, and fine-grained with lively acidity carrying the fruit flavors on and on. This wine certainly drinks well now, especially with food, but will be even better with 6 months in the cellar.
