Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Pinot from Siduri was the winner of our first Big Blind Pinot tasting. It opens with a musty barnyard, truffle, and oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, and savory. Several panelists noted it was very French styled. The flavor profile is a gentle tart red raspberry with wonderfully integrated oak. The finish is dry and displays elegant fine tannins. The panel suggested pairing this Pinot with beef bourguignon. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2008 Siduri Cargasacchi Vineyard Pinot Noir is the most forward wine that we have produced from this site. With rich wild black and blueberry flavors, medium to full body and shadings of vanilla from the new oak, this lush wine is great to pop and drink now. We have no doubts it should age well but it is definitely more accessible at this early stage that previous Cargasacchi Pinots.
