Wine Review: This yellow colored Chardonnay from Shafer is impressive. It opens with a Meyer lemon and gentle oak bouquet with a hint of butterscotch. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and is pleasantly juicy. The flavor profile, like the nose, features tasty lemon and oak with notes of butterscotch. I also detected hints of pear. The finish is dry and its flavors are very nicely prolonged. I would pair this very nice Chard with herbed rainbow trout with a lemon butter sauce. Enjoy - Ken
