Wine Review: This straw colored Chardonnay from Shafer consistently very good. The 2014 opens with a fragrant apple bouquet with a hint of pear. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and pleasant. The flavor profile is a tasty mild mineral infused Granny Smith apple and Anjou pear blend with notes of nicely integrated oak and pineapple. The finish is dry and its flavors linger and last for quite some time. I would pair this impressive Chard with grilled halibut. Enjoy - Ken
