Wine Review: This opaque and onyx colored Cabernet from the Stags Leap District opens with a fragrant boysenberry bouquet with a hint of oak and black pepper. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, smooth, and silky. The flavor profile is a mild black currant with a hint of black cherry and vanilla oak. The finish is dry and its building fine tannins are dusty and sticky. The panel thought this Cab would be perfect in the near term with a cowboy cut ribeye steak. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our 25th vintage of Hillside Select offers aromatic elegance and classic Stags Leap District flavors of black fruit, mocha, black plums, cassis, juicy black and red cherry, black tea, with spice and warm toast. Ripe, silken tannins result in a pleasing, lengthy finish, smooth texture, and a refined structure which offers the potential for very long term aging. Serve with grilled or roasted lamb, duck, beef and game.
