Wine Review: If you get a chance to try this Grenache from Shadow Canyon you will be in for a treat. It is very dark opaque purple colored and opens with a mild blueberry bouquet with a touch of must and a hint of spice. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, fruit forward, and rather juicy. The flavor profile is a dusty, yet extracted blueberry with a dash of black pepper mixed in. The finish is quite dry and its mild tannins linger for quite a while. We enjoyed this savory Grenache at Grill 23 in Boston. You should check the list of a fine restaurant or wine shop near you as production is very limited. I would pair this gem with grilled Memphis styled ribs. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The wine was aged in a combination of new and used French oak barrels. It offers savory aromas of raspberry and dark chocolate with black pepper overtones. In the mouth the wine is delicate and restrained and has a good amount of tannin and acid.
