Wine Review: This dark garnet colored Merlot for Walla Walla is a very good value. It opens with a blackberry and black olive bouquet with hints of loam and black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, mouthwatering and fresh. The flavor profile is black cherry and mocha blend with notes of gentle black currant, vanilla, and cola. I also detected hints of clove, black olive, and a touch of craisin. The finish is dry and its mild tannins and flavors drift away nicely. I would briefly decant this very food friendly Merlot to let it settle in. Then I would pair it with a Tuscan wild boar ragu over fresh pappardelle pasta. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Ruby in color with pronounced aromatics of red cherries, marionberry, and dried cranberries with hints of star anise, cigar box, and mocha. Medium body with elegant texture supported by balanced acid and fine medium tannins providing flavors of red cherries, raspberries, and earth with hints of mocha and baking spice. This wine is great for every occasion and pairs well with a charcuterie board, or an entire Thanksgiving feast. This wine is best enjoyed now and will age nicely over the next four to six years.
