Wine Review: This pitch black colored Cabernet based blend from Seven Hills is impressive. It opens with a very fragrant black currant bouquet with hints red raspberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, concentrated, rich and fruity. The flavor profile is an extracted stewed plum with notes of integrated minerality and black currant. I also picked up some hints of oak and blueberry as well. The finish is very dry and its fruit and substantial tannins build up and stick around for quite some time. I would pair this tasty wine with a well-marbled ribeye after decanting it for at least hour. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: We introduce our Walla Walla Valley Red Wine with this inaugural 2014 vintage. Blended to express the variety of terroir in the Walla Walla Valley appellation, it boasts inviting aromas of sweet red and black fruit, hints of fresh herb and roasted coffee and enchanting, sweet spice. Ripe, warm fruit flavors are at the forefront of the palate, supported by fine-grained tannins and a balanced finish of fruit and structure. It is delicious now, and age-worthy for 3-5 years in the cellar.
