Wine Review: This bright red colored wine from Sette Ponti opens with a mild cedar and wild strawberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced and very friendly. The flavor profile is a mild cedar influenced plum with notes of fine minerality. I also detected hints of five spice and red cherry. The finish is rather dry and its tannins build up and stick around for quite a while. This wine paired well with my fork tender slow braised beef with shallot, carrot, garlic and Burgundy mushroom ragu tossed with rigatoni pasta. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Intense ruby red color is the prelude to a full bouquet of ripe cherry and berries well-blended with spicy notes that give class and complexity. Full bodied, well-balanced and vibrant on the palate, well rounded tannins and depth. Delicious with full flavored meats and roasts.
