Wine Review: This white gold colored Albarino from Rias Baixas is a very good value. It opens with a yellow grapefruit bouquet and hint of lime. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, acidic and brisk. The flavor profile is a tart grapefruit with notes of minerality. I also detected hints of lime and faint pineapple and a dash of white pepper. This Albarino will appeal to fans of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. I would pair it with grilled swordfish skewers. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Bright and aromatically complex, notes of ripe apricot, apple and wild flowers. Fresh and crisp with a persistent lush textures on the palate. The finish is fruity and with mineral nuances. Our Albarino's fresh acidity makes it a fine contrast to foods that are rich, salty, oily, fatty, or mildly spicy. It also pairs nicely with tart foods such as vinaigrettes, capers, leeks, and tomatoes. The wine is an excellent accompaniment to fish and shellfish.
