Wine Review: This brick red colored Sangiovese is very good. It opens with a very fragrant and appealing new leather and black cherry bouquet with a hint of blueberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very smooth. The flavor profile is a cedar plank influenced cherry and tobacco blend with notes of integrated clove and a touch of minerality. The finish is dry and its refined dusty tannins and flavors drift away nicely. This wine settles in very nicely with some aeration and time. I would decant it and serve it with Bistecca alla Fiorentina. (Florentine Steak) Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: In 1997 the Giuntini family was offered a parcel of land in Pontessieve, one of the five municipalities where Chianti Rufina can be produced. They waited until 2016 when the vines had reached a good age and the vintage was exceptional to release the first offering of this wine. Enjoy!
