Wine Review: This dark red colored Chianti Rufina opens with an inviting mild cedar, strawberry and red cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and a tad rustic. The flavor profile is a graphite and stewed plum blend with notes of black raspberry, black olive and black tea. I also detected hints of oak and a touch of black pepper. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins build-up and stick around for quite some time. This wine is pretty complex but needs some air and some time for its tannins to settle. I would decant it in the near term and serve it with beef bourguignon. Enjoy โ KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This wine is an excellent example of the finesse and crispness the Rufina subzone of Chianti delivers.
