Wine Review: This dark red colored Zinfandel from Seghesio opens with a pencil shavings and faint blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and smooth. The flavor profile is a stony minerality and black raspberry tea blend with notes of black olive and stewed black plum. We also detected hints of loam, oak, Chinese five spice, and anise. The finish is dry and its flavors and fine gritty tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this Zin with marinated grilled steak tips. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Aromas of briary black raspberry, lavender and graham cracker crust give way to supple velvety tannins on the palate. Cortina Zinfandel opens with a vibrant red fruit characters and a subtle hint of cocoa powder that carries through to a lengthy, elegance in the midpalate and finishes with richness and a touch of spice. Our Dry Creek Zinfandel is extremely versatile and pairs excellently with lamb, creamy pastas, and veggie dishes.
