Wine Review: This medium ruby colored Zinfandel from Seghesio opens with a mild red raspberry and wet stone bouquet with hints of menthol, cedar, clove, and wintergreen. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, and seamless. The flavor profile is a tasty black cherry and black currant blend with notes of cedar and blueberry. We also detected hints of chocolate and black currant. The finish is dry, and its dusty fine tannins build-up nicely and linger for quite a while. The Tasting Panel would pair this Zin with filet mignon. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Aromas of briary black raspberry, lavender and graham cracker crust give way to bright acidity on the palate. Cortina Zinfandel opens with a vibrant entry of blue, black, and red fruit characters and a subtle hint of cocoa powder that carries through to the wine’s mid-palate and finishes with a touch of spice for an elegant, velvety mouthfeel. The richness of the wine and the combination of berry and spice notes would meld perfectly with the lamb's rich and earthy flavor.
