Wine Review: This deep garnet colored Zinfandel from Seghesio opens with a very fragrant milk chocolate and black cherry bouquet with hints of cola and cedar. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced and velvety. The flavor profile is dried strawberry and ripe red plum blend with notes of red cherry licorice and gentle chalky minerality. We also detected some mocha in the mix. The finish is dry and its refined tannins build-up nicely and stick around for a while. The Tasting Panel would pair this Zin with barbecue brisket or with a pub burger. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Aromas of lilac, wild blueberry tart, cedar and moss give way to bright acidity on the palate. Cortina Zinfandel features vibrant blue fruit and a touch of white pepper that carries through to the wine’s long elegant finish. Our Cortina Zin is a perfect partner for a rack or leg of lamb.
