Wine Review: This ruby colored Zinfandel from Seghesio opens with a boysenberry and acai berry bouquet with a hint of ripe black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. It is round and more juicier than previous vintages. The flavor profile is a blackberry and black raspberry blend with notes of oak. I also detected hints of cocoa powder, baking spice and acai berry in the after taste. The finish is dry, and its moderate tannins stick around for quite a while. I would pair this Zin with a Bolognese made with beef, pork & veal served over pappardelle pasta. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Aromas of lilac, wild blueberry tart, cedar and moss give way to bright acidity on the palate. Cortina Zinfandel features vibrant blue fruit and a touch of white pepper that carries through to the wine’s long elegant finish. A perfect partner to this wine would be a rack or leg of lamb.
