Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Barbera opens with a blackberry and dried strawberry bouquet with a hint of oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced and very easy to drink. The flavor profile is a mild blackberry and stony minority blend with notes of oak, blueberry, and black plum. I also detected a hint of black licorice in the aftertaste. The finish is dry, and its fine tannins fade away nicely. This Barbera benefits from some aeration. I would decant it for a bit and pair it with Chef John's American Goulash. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2019 Barbera is a deep purple color in the glass and exudes aromas of dried flowers, rosemary, new leather and blueberry. On the palate, mouthwatering flavors of mountain berries and carob lead this medium-bodied wine through balanced acid and supple tannins, finishing with lightly spiced oak. Enjoy with classic Italian dishes such as marinara pasta or wood-fired pizza. - Mark Beaman, Winemaker
