Wine Review: This white gold colored Chardonnay from Sea Smoke is Excellent! It opens with poached pear and pineapple bouquet with hints of chalky minerality, mild vanilla, and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, bright, and fresh. The flavor profile is layered. It features Bartlett pear and light oak with notes of cashew, caramel, and pineapple. I also detected hints of chamomile tea, green apple, and vanilla custard. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity drift away nicely. I would pair this Chard with Emeril’s crab cakes. Enjoy – Ken.

Winemaker Notes: An elegant Chardonnay with aromas of mango, honeysuckle, fresh cut pear and honeydew. These are complemented by nectarine and a slight nuttiness in the focused mid-palate and the refreshing cool climate acidity of our estate vineyard.
