Wine Review: This golden colored Chardonnay from the Finger Lakes opens with a pineapple and cantaloupe bouquet with hints of limestone and faint lemon. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, delicate, and slightly viscous. The flavor profile is a very gentle oak and mild grilled pineapple blend with notes of chalky minerality. I also detected some hints of lime and lemon verbena. The finish is dry and its flavors drift away nicely. This Chard is very food friendly and versatile. It will complement many dishes. I would try it with chicken Francese. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: En vie - French for "alive." We believe that the best wines bring people together and make us feel more alive! This Chardonnay was grown at Nutt Road Vineyard on Seneca Lake and was barrel aged for 24 months in large 600 liter French Oak barrels. Integrating the complexity of French oak and the beauty of mineral driven Chardonnay, this wine is meant to bring people together.
