Wine Review: This light-yellow colored Chardonnay from Schweiger opens with a mango and peach bouquet with hints of pineapple and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and bright. The flavor profile is a white peach and almond blend notes of pineapple and honeydew melon. We also detected some hints of mild banana, chamomile tea, tangerine, and ginger. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity show nice length. The Tasting Panel would suggest pairing this Chard with a fisherman’s platter, halibut skewers, or Woodman's whole belly clams. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: It's been a long two-year wait for a new vintage of Chardonnay as our 2020 vintage was "smoked out" by the Glass Fire. That said, great things are worth the wait, and our 2021 wines taste fantastic! On the nose, you are greeted with aromas of white peach, nectarine, lemon zest, and lychee fruit. The silky entry has layered fruit tones with added notes of orange and Asian pear with undertones of toasted oak and vanilla spices. Our 2021 Chardonnay is friendly, medium-bodied, and loves playing with seafood. Sip with pan-roasted halibut or scallops with a lentil salad.
