Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Franc from Schweiger opens with a blackberry and black cherry bouquet with hints of fresh mint. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and rather smooth. The flavor profile is plum and mild licorice blend with notes of green tea and minerality. We also detected some hints of oak, graphite, and pomegranate. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins stick around for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would suggest decanting this Cab Franc before pairing it Peking duck or with braised short ribs. Enjoy – KWGTP
