Wine Review: This coral colored Sparkling wine from Schramsberg opens with lots of tiny streaming bubbles. The bouquet is a mild yeasty bread dough and maraschino cherry blend with hints of watermelon and strawberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. We also thought it had a rich and creamy mouthfeel. The flavor profile is stony mineral influenced watermelon with notes of spice, strawberry licorice, and orange zest. The finish is dry, refreshing and nicely extended. The Panel would pair this Sparkler with Rick's shrimp cocktail or sushi. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2018 Brut Rosé has fruitful aromas of strawberry, cherry, watermelon, and orange, complemented by notes of rose petal, shortcake, cinnamon, and white peach. A crisp, bright entry leads way to a juicy fruitful center with bountiful flavors of nectarine, apricot, yellow apple, and raspberry cobbler, and ends with a lingering finish. Enjoy this rich, delicious sparkler on almost any occasion. Try it with sushi, salmon, rock shrimp, red berry tarts, and an array of cheeses, charcuterie, nuts, and fresh fruit.
