Wine Review: This straw-colored Blanc de Noirs from Schramsberg opens with lots of randomly streaming tiny and small bubbles. It opens with a lemon, ginger and bread dough bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light bodied with plus acidity with forward flavors. Those flavors are lemon, golden delicious apple and chalky minerality. I also detected notes of chamomile tea, brioche and almond mixed in. The finish is dry and its acidity and flavors fade away nicely. This Sparkling wine would pair well swordfish skewers. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2016 Blanc de Noirs expresses generous aromas of peach, toasted almond and fresh red apple, which gradually layer with fragrances of strawberry, citrus blossom and marzipan. A juicy entry generously coats the mid-palate with orange and vanilla spice, followed by crisp and tart flavors of raspberry, grapefruit and lemongrass. A lively and balanced acidity gives way to a clean, fresh and mouthwatering floral and mandarin orange finish.
