Wine Review: This light honey colored sparkling wine from Schramsberg is very good. It opens lots of small streaming bubbles and a strawberry and wet stone bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, pleasantly acidic and bright. The flavor profile is a tasty mineral infused lime and bread dough blend with hints of walnut and lemon. The finish is dry and its flavors and acidity show nice length. This California sparkler was very popular with our tasting group. We would pair it with bacon wrapped scallops. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2013 Blanc de Noirs expresses generous aromas of pear, peach, apricot, and caramel, which gradually layer with fragrances of fresh baked bread. Lush flavors coat the palate with candied grapefruit, lemongrass, marzipan and a hint of orange zest. This sparkling wine delivers a clean, lingering finish.
