Wine Review: This pale straw colored Sparkler from Schramsberg displays tiny bubbles and opens with a mild pear and white pepper bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, pleasantly acidic and enjoyable. The flavor profile is a tasty mineral infused green apple with hints of bread dough, white pepper and lemon. The finish is dry and lingers nicely. The panel suggested pairing this sparkler with French onion soup along with baked haddock. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2013 Blanc de Blancs has bright and fresh aromas of grapefruit, mango, apricot, lemon, and white peach. The fruitful fragrance intermingles with hints of fresh bread, vanilla cream pie, and rose petals. Freshly sliced Gravenstein apples, zesty citrus, and bright pineapple flavors carry vibrant length on the palate. While this wine can be enjoyed by itself as an aperitif, it is also perfect with fresh oysters and other shellfish, crab cakes, ceviche and grilled sea bass. It is also delicious with lemon chicken and Thai curries.
