Wine Review: This midnight blue colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Sbragia is a big boy wine. It opens with a tar, vinyl and forest floor like bouquet with hints of blueberry. Those scents tend to dissipate with some swirling. On the palate, this wine shows its potential. It is full bodied, well-balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty black currant and chalky minerality blend with notes of espresso and black licorice. The finish is dry and its sticky tannins are nicely extended. The Panel suggested pairing this hedonistic Cab with some slow cooked short ribs or a ribeye steak. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: We buy these grapes from Dr. Andolsen, our long-time friend and family doctor. The steep, terraced vineyard is located in Dry Creek's western foothills. This Cabernet is herbaceous and earthy as we have come to expect from this vineyard, but is more fruit forward than previous vintages. Black currant, plum, and white peppercorn take over on the nose while cedar, earth and unmistakable cassis dance on the palate, leaving a long finish.
